What is Mixed Martial Arts?

    • “Mixed Martial Arts” also known as “MMA” refers to a combination of several martial art styles blended or mixed. The combat sport of MMA allows striking, grappling, takedowns, throws and submission holds in a competitive arena. Most successful modern MMA fighters cross train in Boxing, Muay Thai, Jiu Jitsu and Wrestling among others. Because no martial art has everything it is generally accepted that cross-training is required in order to become a complete MMA fighter. Other martial art styles that have been successful in MMA events include Sambo, Judo and Shooto.
